DOOM franchise orginazation
I know this site is rather boring at first, but thats just because I am getting started on a lon, giganic project. I know your probably excited about my title and what it says. I am creating a franchise DOOM with a Quake-based engine. Of course, the technology remains the same and so does many other things. But, the new features are all listed on the DOOM Legacy site. I'll mention a few of them:

New support for 3dfx compatible 3d accelerator chipset (Beta test available) ^^
Dynamic lighting (removes sector based lighting - like quake 2) ^^

windows based engine (DirectX compliant) ^^ (currently is a DOS program but can be run through windows 95, 3.11 or 98)

Console (like in quake 2)
full mouse or keyboard 360 degree movement (look all around now - like in Quake 2)

easier setup menu
Skins
Dehacked compatible command line parameter
fog  (under 3d accelerator card) ^^
better sound support through Windows sound setup and directsound ^^
2 player split screen mode and now 4 players (2 on each computer) via modem
